Crown Wake Chess · product notice
Not yet listed
These terms cover the Crown Wake Chess game in this browser, including local play that works without an account. The operating company's registered name, number, and office are not yet listed. Until they are, this is a product notice for the software you are using, not a finished statutory company page.
Terms of service
Rules for playing Crown Wake Chess. Version 1.0 product notice, 6 September 2026. Governed by the laws of England and Wales. Read with the Privacy policy and Fair-play policy.
1. Agreement
By opening or playing Crown Wake Chess you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
"You" means the person using the game. "We" and "Crown Wake Chess" mean the product and, when named, the operating company behind it. "Service" means the website, the progressive web app, and related pages such as the spectator board and replay player.
2. The game you are using
Crown Wake Chess is a 3D chess game with animated pieces. You can:
- Play locally on this device against the computer, and use puzzles, study, and campaign content that ship with the client.
- Use online features (friends, ranked play, lobby, spectating, shared replays) when those features are connected and available.
- Cast a live board to the spectator page, or open a replay link from a finished game.
Local play does not require an account. Online play may. We do not pretend a lobby is full, invent opponents, or show a live ranking that is not coming from the service.
The spectator page and replay player are read-only. They show a game only if a sender or a valid replay link provides one. An empty board on those pages means there is no game to show, not that a match is secretly running.
3. Who may play
The game is for a general audience. You should be at least 13 to create an online account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms for you.
Any future feature that takes payment or pays a prize would be limited to people aged 18 or over. No such feature is offered in this copy.
You are responsible for using the game lawfully where you are. The product is operated with the United Kingdom in mind.
Accounts, when used, are for individual human players. Automated sign-up or play on human ladders is not allowed.
4. Accounts and security
If you create an account:
- Use one account for yourself. Do not share it, and do not play on someone else's account.
- Keep your password to yourself. We do not store passwords in plain text.
- Usernames are public and must not impersonate others or break the conduct rules.
- Some online features may wait until an email is confirmed.
You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us it was used without your say, once a contact address exists.
5. Acceptable use
Play fairly, lawfully, and with ordinary respect. You must not:
- Cheat in a human game, including engine help, a second person suggesting moves, or bots on a human ladder. The in-game computer and analysis tools are for local study and computer opponents, not for a live human match.
- Run extra accounts to dodge a ban, farm a rating, or confuse matchmaking.
- Arrange results, sandbag, stall to waste a clock, or harass anyone in chat or names.
- Spam, phish, or post unlawful or hateful content.
- Attack, overload, or probe the service, or tamper with clocks, results, or presence data.
- Scrape or reverse-engineer the service beyond what the law allows.
When you play ranked or official online games, results and clocks are decided by the server, not by a value you type on the device.
6. Fair play
The Fair-play policy is part of these terms. We may review games, reports, and account signals, and we may restrict or close an account that we reasonably believe has broken the rules. We will not publicly name someone as a cheat on a thin statistical flag alone.
7. Purchases and prizes
The core chess game is free to play. This copy does not sell a subscription, does not take card payments, and does not run real-money prize events.
If we later offer a paid unlock or cosmetics, we will show the price in pounds sterling (GBP), inclusive of VAT where VAT applies, before you pay. Digital content would be supplied with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the usual UK cooling-off rules for digital content, including the need for a clear immediate-access acknowledgement if that right is lost. Card details would go to a payment processor, not into this game's own forms as a full card number.
Cosmetic items and unlocks would have no cash value and would not be property you can sell. Nothing in a later shop would change who wins a chess game.
Prize competitions, if they ever exist, would be skill events with their own rules, 18+ only, and would not launch from this page until those rules are published.
8. Intellectual property
The game, its 3D models, boards, animation, audio, software, and the name Crown Wake Chess are owned by us or licensed to us. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to play for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, or build on the assets except as the law allows.
If you send feedback, we may use it without paying you.
9. Chat and your content
Usernames and chat are your content. You must have the right to post them. You give us a licence to host and moderate them so the game can run. Chat is not a private letter. We may filter, hide, or remove content that breaks these terms. User content is the speaker's view, not ours.
10. Availability and liability
The game is provided as it stands and as it is available. Local play can work without the network. Online features need the hosted service and may pause, change, or fail.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that English law does not allow us to limit, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your non-excludable consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for lost profit, data, or chance, and we are not liable for other players' conduct. If you are a consumer we remain responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
Until a paid product exists, there is no purchase price to refund. A later liability cap for paid features would be stated in pounds, not as a placeholder amount.
11. Ending use
You may stop playing at any time. Clear the site data to remove local settings. If account closure is offered in the game, use that control.
We may suspend or end access where we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, to protect other players or the service, or because the law requires it. We will give notice where we reasonably can.
12. Changes
We may change the game and these terms. The page you are reading is the current version. If a change is material we will date it here. If you keep using the game after a change, you accept it. If you do not, stop using the game.
13. Law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections of your home law, including the right to use your home courts where that law says you may.
